Buildings are in my blood, I have had an interest in construction ever since I was a child having been brought up in a family who had built since the 1920’s, often accompanying my father to the office and sites. How buildings are put together has always fascinated me. I actually started work labouring for the family business in 1980, getting a grass roots education from the bottom up, quickly seeing the does and don’ts. This had held me in good stead all of my working career, the right way, the wrong way, good planning, the order of things, an eye for detail, problem solving but most importantly listening.

In 1998 I re-joined Linden Homes as a technical manager co-ordinating the design of all building elements, here my hands on experience of sites and eye for detail came into its own. It was about this time that energy conservation was beginning to surface, soon to be called sustainability. I buried myself in it, finding practical cost effective measures to improve homes, a passion developed, I’ve not looked back since and after over 20 years in sustainability the thirst gets greater.

Now I find myself at a cross roads in my life, I want to share my knowledge with the wider world, the past 7 years I have focussed on condensation, damp, mould, cold and practical cost effective energy saving solutions for homes.

I have a lot of knowledge that I feel I need to share to help the wider population at a time of great uncertainty about energy costs and indeed availability.

So I’m now dipping my toe in the waters of the wide world to offer the benefits of my knowledge and experience to a wider audience.
